Isiolo Tawakal Farmers Marketing Cooperative Society Limited is a camel milk cooperative with its operation in Isiolo. It is run by purely women who are engaged in aggregating, processing and marketing of camel milk within and outside Isiolo county, with the major market in Nairobi. The business has experienced growth since its establishment except in 2020 when it was affected by the Covid 19 pandemic that affected sales. Currently, the grouo collects and sale between 2000-5000 litres of camel milk per day and from the existing market they are yet to meet demand of current customers. They intend to increase collection through investment in more coolers for higher capacity. They have also progressed from not only selling fresh camel but also currently doing value addition by processing camel milk into yoghurt, chocolate, sweets. The cooperative business provide markets to more than 300 camel milk producers.
